Chikkamagaluru

Chikmagaluru is steeped in a rich and distinct history, just waiting to be explored. The history of Chikkamagaluru dates back to the medieval period. This little beautiful town in south-western part of Karnataka is captivated with several legends. One of such interesting stories is that the city was given as a dowry to the younger daughter of King Rukmangada. Therefore, Chikkamagaluru is derived from the Kannada word "Chikkamagala Uru" which means "Younger daughter's town". Lying on the foot hills of the Mullayanagiri range, Chikkamagaluru is a small, distinctive and beautiful city, famous for its coffee plantations. It is Karnataka's most preferred holiday destinations. By means of railways and roadways, the city is connected to all the prominent cities of the state.

Coorg

Coorg is a landlocked district in the State of Karnataka, officially known as Kodagu. The district is spread across an area of 4,102 square kilometres. Area-wise Coorg is bigger than the State of Goa. Most of the area in Coorg is hilly and covered with forests and plantations. Coffee plantations being the most visible part of Coorg. This unspoilt “country of million hills”, situated on the slopes of the Western Ghats, is India’s coffee bowl. The tiny district in the state of Karnataka is the biggest producer of coffee.

Mysuru

Mysore is the second largest city in the state of Karnataka, India. It is the headquarters of the Mysore district and the Mysore division and lies about 146 km (91 mi) southwest of Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka. The name Mysore is an anglicised version of Mahishuru, which means the abode of Mahisha. Mahisha stands for Mahishasura, a demon from the Hindu mythology. The city is spread across an area of 128.42 km2 (50 sq mi) and is situated at the base of the Chamundi Hills.
