Guidelines For Preparation & Submission of E-Posters

  • The time allotted for the oral presentation is 10 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for discussion with 2 minutes for audience interaction.
  • All posters whether will be e-posters. There will be no physical display of posters on papers or on flex.
  • The e-posters will be displayed on LCD monitors in the ePoster Stations at the Exhibition area of IISc from 25th-27th September 2023.
  • Please use the MS power point template provided to prepare your e-poster.
    • The slide/poster size is 40.97” x 23.04” (16:9 aspect ratio)
    • Layout should always be in landscape orientation & all the matter including photographs should fit into the 1 slide template provided.
    • Contents should not be over crowded.
    • Symbols, diagrams and other images included should be clear enough to view on large screen.
    • Recommended Font: Font size should not be less than 10pt, Font type: Calibri (Body), Cambria, Arial (Bold), Adobe Garamond Pro.
    • Background should be light (Recommended: White) if dark text is being used.
    • Save all mathematical formulas and equations to images (.jpg, .png) when embedding
    • Save the prepared PowerPoint slide as .pdf
    • When you save as .pdf please name it as “E-Poster - with your abstract ID number”
    • Total file size should not exceed 10 mb.
  • Names of all authors should be mentioned and name of the presenting author should be underlined.
  • Affiliations of author and all co-authors should be mentioned.
  • In case of any conflict of interest, it should be mentioned and specified at the bottom of the poster.
  • A maximum of 3 references can be listed at the end of the poster.
  • Commercial names of drugs/chemicals/ equipment should not be mentioned.
  • Animations and videos will not be supported by the PDF format.
  • Privacy of your patients should be protected. Appropriate permission from patients for use of their clinical images should be taken. Eyes should be blacked out. Maintaining privacy and dignity of patients is the responsibility of authors and co-authors.

Guidelines For Preparation of Oral presentations

  • The time allotted for the poster presentation is 7 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for discussion with 2 minutes for audience interaction.
  • Please use the MS power point template provided to prepare oral presentation.
    • Contents should not be overcrowded
    • Symbols, diagrams, and other images included should be clear enough to view on large screen. Please align the illustrations
    • Font size should not be less than 10pt, Font type: Calibri (Body), Cambria, Arial (Bold), Adobe Garamond Pro.
    • Background should be light (Recommended: White) if dark text is being used.
    • Content should not exceed 10 slides preferably.
    • The slides should cover-Introduction, material and methods, discussion, and conclusion.
    • Affiliations of author and all co-authors should be mentioned. Name of the presenting author should be underlined.
    • The authors to put their names as how it should appear in the final format, and they should maintain same in all presentations.
    • In case of any conflict of interest, it should be mentioned and specified
    • References can be listed at the end of the presentation.
    • Commercial names of drugs/chemicals/ equipment should not be mentioned.
  • Privacy of your patients should be protected. Appropriate permission from patients for use of their clinical images should be taken. Eyes should be blacked out. Maintaining privacy and dignity of patients is the responsibility of authors and co-authors.

Only one communication is allowed to be presented by the presenting author:

  • If the presenting author does not register before 31 July 2023 to ISSHP 2023 to validate his/her communication, they forfeit the chance to present their work.
  • Under exceptional circumstances, after permission from the committee, if the presenting author is not able to present at the conference, they can nominate one of the listed co- authors as the presenting author-who needs to be a registered delegate.

Publication Policy:

  • By submitting an abstract, you authorise ISSHP to record and replay your presentation (if accepted and presented).
  • All abstracts validated for presentation will also be published as a e- abstract book. By submitting your abstract, you agree for the abstract to be published. Please note that you are responsible for proofing your own abstracts.
  • All abstracts’ titles and the authors will be listed in the scientific programme.
  • The presenting authors will be sent detailed guidance including the timing of the presentation once their abstract is accepted. If you need to withdraw your abstract, a written statement reflecting the reasons for this withdrawal must be sent to abstract@isshp2023.com/isshp2023india@gmail.com by no later than 30 July 2023.

Submission Categories:

Abstracts Structure:

  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Abstract’s length: The abstract must not contain more than 35 lines (blank spaces, punctuation included).
  • The size of the abstract is limited to 300 words [Exclusive of Title and Author Names].
  • The abstract’s title is limited to 300 characters without spaces
  • No tables or figures should be submitted in the abstract.
  • Abstracts should be structured using the following subheadings:
    • For original research work: Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions.
    • For case reports: no subheadings
  • Abbreviations may be used after defining them first.
  • Abstracts should have expected scientific merit.
  • Trade names and company names cannot be mentioned in the title. However, trade names in brackets will be accepted in the body of the text if they are necessary to differentiate from similar products or to specify certain delivery devices or modes of application.
  • Authors would need to submit a blinded abstract. The authors’ names and affiliations should not be included/mentioned in the abstract.
  • Please enter all authors’ details on the submission form in the order they should appear in the abstract listing.
  • If you have not completed all required sections and details, your abstract will not be considered for reviewing and will be rejected.

Technical Guidelines:

  • Account creation
  • Account creation is mandatory to submit an abstract. If you forgot your password, you may request to send a reminder email. Email address-use the same
  • Submission of an abstract
  • Items marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory. The system will inform you if you have not fulfilled all the mandatory fields.
  • Do not repeat the title of your abstract, authors names or headers of each field that will be automatically added to your abstract.
  • Please ensure that your abstract does not contain spelling, grammatical or scientific errors. The abstract’s text will be reproduced exactly as submitted. No proofreading will be done.
  • The format will be unified for all abstracts.
  • Make sure to carefully check your abstract preview before the submission. Once you have completed all the required information, you will be able to submit your abstract using the "Proof and submit” button which will appear at the bottom.
  • Abstract once submitted cannot be modified.
  • Do not open your abstract submission on multiple devices as the automatic backup (every 5 minutes) may erase data entered on another device.
  • You will receive your submission confirmation by email with the abstract preview attached.
  • List of authors
  • Submitting author: person who submits the abstract and who will receive all the communication about the presentation.
  • Presenting author: person who will present the abstract at the meeting and who is marked as the presenter in the congress programme.
  • Co-author: cited co-author who scientifically endorses the abstract and is therefore responsible for its content
  • By clicking the button "Add author" you can add co-authors in your abstract. First author is automatically already entered but you can modify it.
  • Please enter the full name (in full) in lower case (first letter capitalized).
  • You can change the order of authors by selecting the number.
  • Conflict of interests: Authors and co-authors must declare any financial or other interests with a company in connection with the work presented.
  • Once the submitter submits the abstract, all co-authors will be notified by email.
